About the event
Wolves are returning to California after nearly a century of absence, bringing both ecological interest and real challenges for the rural communities who share the landscape with them. In this webinar, Dr. Kaggie Orrick of the University of California, Berkeley’s California Wolf Project will discuss the current status of wolves in the state, what researchers are learning about their movements and diet, and how their recovery intersects with livestock production. The talk will highlight how wolves have returned to the state, their current and future presence, the complexity of wolves on working lands, and the efforts underway to better understand and reduce conflict. Participants will gain insight into the complex balance between carnivore recovery and working landscapes, and the research and management approaches being developed to support both wildlife and the people who live alongside it.
