This drab vireo is best identified on the basis of its dullness: gray or olive gray underparts, lack of wing bars, white eyebrow, and dark eye-line (mostly in back of eye).
Nests in tress or shrubs, where it builds a cup-shaped structure from bark, leaves, grasses, and other vegetation. Feeds on insects and spiders.
