Description
Anthophora urbana has white hair bands at the ends of abdominal tergal sections, and well-developed scopae on hind legs. Eyes are bluish.

Most local Anthophora are generalists. Anthophora urbana can be important pollinators of tomatoes, as well as many native plants.
Habits
Burrow nests are usually multiple-celled, built off lateral branches, and each has a single egg in it on a pollen/nectar combination of food. Burrows are about 4-11 inches deep. Males emerge from nests 1-2 weeks before females. The Urbane Digger Bee is a commonly encountered bee.
