The Moon, Earth’s Lost Rock

Please join the Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society for its June 20 astronomy program at the lower summit parking lot.  This month’s topic is: The Moon; Earth's Lost Rock! – How would Earth be different without the Moon? How is our Earth like our Moon? Explore the Moon in telescopes.

Arrive early to safely view the Sun through telescopes.  The program starts at 8 p.m. at the lower summit parking lot of Mt. Diablo State Park (enter the park at least 45 minutes earlier).  Although there is no fee for this program, there is a park entrance fee.

Parking in the Lower Summit lots is limited and is First Come, First Served. If the lots are full when you arrive, you may park outside those lots, but please note:

a.   Park ONLY in other designated parking areas or completely off the road.

b.    Illegally parked cars are subject to ticketing…
