Help Us Celebrate on October 16th

Sharon Peterson

This year is Mount Diablo State Park’s 100th birthday! It is one of the earliest parks created by California which has made it possible for us to enjoy the park we know today.

Since becoming a park in 1921, Mount Diablo has been protected as a natural area, and over the past 100 years it has grown from only a few hundred acres to over 20,000 acres. Today it is a destination for those who would like to view wildlife and wildflowers, experience beautiful views, hike, camp, picnic,  run, cycle, climb, ride horses, or gaze at the stars.

In the coming months join California State Parks and its partners in celebrating Mount Diablo State Park’s centennial. Watch for Facebook posts, information on centennial themed hikes, and save the date October 16 to join us for a centennial celebration. More details will be coming soon about this birthday party for the park.
