Mountain Talk: Doc Hale: The Lions of Diablo

Thursday, February 8, 2018, 7-9 pm
Ygnacio Valley Library
Eminent wildlife biologist James (Doc) Hale returns to tell us about another area of his passionate expertise: cougars in the Bay Area, and particularly in the three main zones around Mount Diablo: Briones, Las Trampas, and Mount Diablo itself. The freeways act as giant border crossings, keeping each population largely to itself. Doc's wildlife cameras scattered in these areas over many years clarify numbers, health, and behavior of this beautiful big cat, which trails deep myth, awe, fear, and rumor behind it.

No reservations required, but Doc draws SRO crowds, so get there early and claim a seat. For more info: Jenn Roe,  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
